While outsourcing to Chinese studios is common among AAA game development, these developers are starting to make games of their own. In August of 2020, the developers at Game Science released a 13-minute gameplay demo for Black Myth: Wukong, which looks to be an action RPG sporting some truly stunning next-gen visuals. Apparently this is an alpha version of the game, but plans are to eventually release it on “all mainstream hardware.” It could be a while before we see the full release, but the story seems to be inspired by the clasic Journey to The West myth, which has been featured in games before like Monkey King and Enslaved: Odyssey to The West.
