March 9th State of Play Highlights!

Well folks, it’s time for another State of Play! This is the kind of stream that builds unreasonable amounts of hype and often delivers a mixed bag, but who knows? Maybe this time will be different, maybe they’ll finally announce Knack 3, I don’t know.

State of Play March 9th: Full Stream and Highlights

  • We’re opening with a new sci-fi game from Capcom that has exosuits and lots of dinosaurs. Exoprimal is the name, and it’s coming in 2023.
  • New trailer for Ghostwire: Tokyo has me hyped for the big release in just a few weeks!
  • Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin gets a new demo later today
  • A new trailer for Forspoken is bitter sweet, given that the game was recently pushed back to October of 2022.
  • A new 6V6 multiplayer Gundam shooter gets a trailer, and while I’m not super invested in the Gundam universe myself, I can always get behind a good old fashioned mech shooter.Gundam Evolution comes out later this year.
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles gets a Cowabunga Collection that’s sure to please fans of the classic arcade titles! It’s coming in 2022
  • Gigabash is a cool new Kaiju brawler coming in 2022 that got a new trailer.
  • JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is getting a new fighting game. All Star Battle comes out with 50 playable characters in fall of 2022.
  • Trek to Yomi gets a new trailer, and the game continues to look like a slick, side-scrolling Ghost of Tsushima, but I’m all for new samurai games. It’s coming Spring 2022.
  • Returnal is getting a new update later this month that adds co-op and a new survival mode!
  • The Diofield chronicle is a new RPG tactics game coming in 2022 from Square Enix.
  • Valkyrie Elysium seems to be a new entry in the classic RPG series that’s coming in 2022.
