All The Major Announcements from Gamescom Opening Night Live
We’re once again watching virtual event, but the hosts promise plenty of trailers and even more content than last year, so let’s dive in and see what’s new, shall we? As always, these will be announcements and trailers for confirmed PlayStation games, so if you don’t see something, it’s most likely because it’s an Xbox or PC exclusive at launch.
King of Fighters 15 Receives a Release date
We’re opening with announcements from the pre-show and the first trailer is for King of Fighters 15, promising an early 2022 release date.
Bus Simulator 21 is Coming September 7th
I reviewed and enjoyed the last iteration of Bus Simulator! The new version is coming in September, but doesn’t seem to be for the next-gen consoles, which is a shame. That doesn’t mean it won’t get an update down the line, though!
A New Trailer for House of Ashes, the Next Game in the Dark Pictures Anthology
I’ve enjoyed the first two titles in the Dark Pictures Anthology, and I’m all about a Halloween release of their next entry, House of Ashes. Check out the new trailer!
Dolmen Brings Cosmic Horror to PS5
Cosmic horror shooter RPG? Yeah, absolutely. This PS5 title has a great first trailer and is coming in 2022.

Saint’s Row is back! New setting, new characters, the same old attitude and humor. I’m liking the new look! It comes out early next year.
Midnight Suns
X-COM developers making a Marvel game? You know it! The new title is a tactics RPG where you get to make your own character and command classic characters like Wolverine, Blade, Ghost Rider, and Doctor Strange. I am all about this one.
Call of Duty Vanguard Campaign Gameplay
We got our first look at Call of Duty Vanguard’s new campaign, featuring true stories surrounding the origins of the special forces. The gameplay looks solid, and Laura Bailey as one of the main characters is sure to be a win in the story department.
Cult of The Lamb is Devolver Digital Doing its Thing
In classic Devolver Digital fashion, the publisher has signed an animated game with adorable animals, cultist rituals, and eldritch horrors. Never change.
Midnight Fight Express is Another One-Developer Miracle
It’s truly amazing to see what small teams comes up with. This over-the-top action brawler looks excellent, and it was made by one person.
TMNT Shredder’s Revenge Brings Back Classic Arcade Brawls
A new trailer for the next TMNT arcade game reminds us that the classics always come back in another form.
Super Monkey Ball Banana-Mania Wins Me Over With Morgana
This collection of the classic titles and minigames has me thinking about trying it out, but mostly I’m sold because Morgana from P5R will be making an appearance, and that is just plain awesome.
Riders Republic is Still a Thing, Looks Solid
Extreme sports enthusiasts will find a lot to love here, but we’ll see how the whole experience comes together. Ubisoft has been hit or miss lately. Check out the full Beta, going on until August 28th.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is still Coming…
All nine movies in a single game, with plenty of extras is a huge ask for any game developer. It’s understandable that Traveler’s Tales needs time to finish this, but man has it been a while. We’re hearing spring 2022 now.
The Outlast Trials is Probably Gonna be Way Too Scary, But Here We Go
Play alone or with three friends in the new entry of the Outlast universe. Looks like classic Outlast, but you can actually fight back now, which is a major change.
Doke V Looks Awesome, but it’s got a lot going on
This new title has a great look, but I’m getting everything from Pokemon to GTA vibes from all the open world activities.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 is Looking Slick!
Coming November 9th, and the graphics look excellent! Check out the new trailer.
Far Cry 6 Gets a New Trailer
Far Cry 6 has all the talent and graphics to make it a hit, but we’ll have to see what it does with the gameplay to mix things up. Even so, the story looks interesting. We’ll find out this October!
Blood Hunt Brings Vampires to Battle Royale
I’m all for new games in the Vampire: The Masquerade Universe, but I worry about something this niche doing well as a battle royale. For the sake of future games in the universe, I hope it does well! It’s at least going to be free-to-play.
Jett: The Far Shore Gets a Release Date
This space exploration title has me super interested with its unique world and intruiging story. It’s finally coming to PS5 on October 5th.
Horizon Forbidden West Gets Pushed to 2022
We got an update on the release date for Horizon Forbidden West, and it’s coming in 2022. February 18th, 2022 to be exact. Preorders begin next week. In a surprise announcement, the original game received a 60FPS patch today on PS5, so time to replay!
Sifu is Coming 2/22/22
Sifu, the kung-fu action combat game for PS5, has a release date of February 22nd, 2022. Take a look at the new trailer.
An In-Depth Look at Death Stranding Director’s Cut
A deep dive into Death Stranding Director’s Cut showcases new gadgets, the improved buddy bot, new facilities like the gun range that offer practice missions and leaderboards, and more. Boss fights can be revisited as well. I’m here for the new missions myself, which seem to add new areas and story.
