As always, these will be announcements and trailers for confirmed PlayStation games, so if you don’t see something, it’s most likely because it’s an Xbox or PC exclusive at launch. King of Fighters 15 Receives a Release date We’re opening with announcements from the pre-show and the first trailer is for King of Fighters 15, promising an early 2022 release date. Bus Simulator 21 is Coming September 7th I reviewed and enjoyed the last iteration of Bus Simulator! The new version is coming in September, but doesn’t seem to be for the next-gen consoles, which is a shame. That doesn’t mean it won’t get an update down the line, though! A New Trailer for House of Ashes, the Next Game in the Dark Pictures Anthology I’ve enjoyed the first two titles in the Dark Pictures Anthology, and I’m all about a Halloween release of their next entry, House of Ashes. Check out the new trailer! Dolmen Brings Cosmic Horror to PS5 Cosmic horror shooter RPG? Yeah, absolutely. This PS5 title has a great first trailer and is coming in 2022. Soundfall combines bullet hell with rhythm combat, and yes please Soundfall’s mixture of fantasy elements, tech, and rhythm combat are ticking all the boxes for me. Check out this full trailer. Saint’s Row Reboot Saint’s Row is back! New setting, new characters, the same old attitude and humor. I’m liking the new look! It comes out early next year. Midnight Suns X-COM developers making a Marvel game? You know it! The new title is a tactics RPG where you get to make your own character and command classic characters like Wolverine, Blade, Ghost Rider, and Doctor Strange. I am all about this one. Call of Duty Vanguard Campaign Gameplay We got our first look at Call of Duty Vanguard’s new campaign, featuring true stories surrounding the origins of the special forces. The gameplay looks solid, and Laura Bailey as one of the main characters is sure to be a win in the story department. Cult of The Lamb is Devolver Digital Doing its Thing In classic Devolver Digital fashion, the publisher has signed an animated game with adorable animals, cultist rituals, and eldritch horrors. Back 4 Blood open beta, Death loop has gone gold and more in this weeks drop!

It’s been a pretty good week for gaming news and it’s about that time we look back at some of the highlights. On top of the news recap this weekend, keep your eyes out for my impressions of Back 4 Blood as well as live-streaming the same title this week. Without further ado, let’s get to the news!    Back 4 Blood is currently in an open beta stage for everyone to try. Not gonna say too much about the title just yet, but I will say it has more elements than I expected, so that’s a good sign for what’s in the full game. I have found it to be quite fun so far, but not without its share of issues.  I can’t wait to learn more and give you my first impressions next week. Fear not, it opens to everyone, not just preorders, so we’re clear.    Another game I am excited for this month as should most PlayStation owners, is Ghost of Tsushima. With the big update on its way that adds an extension to the game, a multiplayer variant and for a few extra dollars you get a PS5 upgrade, it’s almost time for me to hop back on and revisit the game.    Someone listed a couple of PS5 developer kits on eBay the other day. The bidding reached over $3000 USD before the listing was taken down by eBay without explanation. We’re guessing that Sony got involved and had the listing removed, but without an official statement from either eBay or Sony, there is no way to confirm Sony’s involvement. Personally, if I was in the market for a PS5, I wouldn’t be interested in buying a dev kit. It might have some collector’s value down the road, but it’s still a hard pass for me. Would you buy one?    In other news, Sony has seen a decline in PlayStation plus subscribers, but the company isn’t worried about it as the PlayStation brand continues to be the biggest money maker for Sony right now. Which really makes me wounded where Sony would be right now if they had passed on the console business. It is my understanding that PlayStation is the company’s flagship right now, so it is quite possible that Sony could have gone bankrupt had it not gotten into gaming. Interesting thought to mull over. What do you think would have happened?    Deathloop has gone gold! PS5’s timed exclusive that was originally planned to release back in May of this year, has finally been completed and is ready for gamers to play. Unfortunately for me and other Gamers that can’t wait to play this game, going gold now doesn’t move the release date any closer. September 14th, it is! Microsoft now owns the developer and publisher behind Deathloop, but prior to MS making the purchase of Zenimax and everything under its umbrella, the deal had already been struck with Sony and the companies had to follow through with the terms. … Read More

New PS5 Announcements From The Annapurna Interactive Showcase!

The Annapurna Summer Showcase brought some updates and announcements that span all current consoles, but we’re here to look at the PS5-specific ones. New partnerships with studios like Outerloop Games, No Code, and Ivy Road could lead to PS5 titles as well, but since those remain unannounced, we’ll stick with what we know. Check out the new trailers! PS5 Announcements From The Annapurna Interactive Showcase A memoir blue This is a classic Annapurna title, with beautiful art, lots of emotions, and wonderful music. Grab the tissues, folks. Solar Ash This one has a vibe that combines Shadow of The Colossus with shades of Journey and Sayonara Wild Hearts, and oh boy am I here for it. Stray Stray captured hearts with its feline protagonist, and today we got a deeper look at the gameplay and world, both of which look excellent. It won’t be out until next year, but this is a day-1 buy for me. Outer Wilds: Echoes of The Eye My personal game of the show, Outer Wilds is something that everyone should experience in their lifetime. Described as “the one and only expansion,” Echoes of The Eye seems to be a prequel that leads directly into the events of the main game, which is about the only thing that would work, which you’ll understand if you played it. What did you think of these new announcements? Let us know in the comments! Article by – Bradley Ramsey Insert date – 7/29/2021

Dead Space Remake, online gaming outage and more in this weeks drop!

Welcome back to another gaming new update here at PS5 Gamers. The Non-E3 EA event has passed us by and it was a decent showing. We got a little extra news on some of the upcoming titles we were expecting. PSN, Xbox Live and Steam went down yesterday for a short stint and more! Let’s get to it!    We got confirmation that Dead Space is getting a remake from the ground up and it is exclusive to current Gen consoles. I know some folks feel like the PS4 and Xbox One X/S are still current, but alas, they are last Gen consoles now. Sorry. The good news for current gen console owners is a Dead Space Remake. Personally, I cannot wait!    During the show at EA Play, it was also announced that Battlefield 2024 is getting a sandbox mode called Battlefield Portal. Players will be able to custom build their own Battlefield experience. Moreover, players can upload their creations for others to try out. It seems like something we could have had in past titles, but now works for me. Lots more seems to be coming to Battlefield 2024, so I for one am pretty excited to see how the actual hands-on game turns out.    Did you run into some issues getting online yesterday? Well, you weren’t alone. For whatever reason, the internet was causing problems for PlayStation, Xbox and Stream gamers alike! At no fault to any of the companies that own the services listed above, the net wasn’t having it. It wasn’t down long and by the time most people heard about the outage, it was already cleared up, but I had to laugh when I started seeing comments on social media about how which service is better because the other was down… well, let’s just say a fool will make a fool of themselves even when there is ample opportunity to avoid it. Good job to those that handled the trolling with a little wit and some kindness sprinkled on top.    Shout out to the soccer fans reading up on this article. Konami has rebranded Pro Evolution Soccer to eFootball and it is fully free to play. eFootball is scheduled to release sometime this fall and will drop on last Gen, current Gen and PC, but not Nintendo. Nintendo is in a market of its own and I don’t think the company cares either. That being said, eFootball is a cross platform title, so you won’t be restricted to the console family you typically play on. You won’t need a subscription service to play online either.    Call of Duty Black Ops and Warzone got mid season updates the other day. Weapon balances, bug fixes, all kinds of good stuff, but Warzone did get a little something extra. A new game mode called Payload, which if I’m being honest here, doesn’t really fit into the CoD franchise in my opinion.    For starters, a lot of people don’t seem to understand how the … Read More

PS5 gets a system update, possible upcoming PlayStation experience and more in last weeks new update today!

A good amount of gaming news has dropped over that last week or so and while I don’t have anything game changing for you today (pun intended), but there will definitely be something big coming later this month from EA and hopefully Sony will give us something more than the State of Plays they have been dropping for us. Without further ado, let’s get to the gaming news drop, shall we?    The PS5 got another firmware update the other day. It doesn’t bring anything heavy hitting to the console, but performance improvements are always a good thing. Here’s a look at the notes:   This system software update improves system performance. We’ve updated the DualSense wireless controller device software to improve stability. We’ve fixed an issue that restricted the functionality of some screens when the screen reader was enabled. We’ve fixed an issue where games that you’ve hidden on PS4 were not hidden on PS5. We’ve made the process of copying games from USB extended storage to console storage in the game library more stable   All useful improvements in the end. Hopefully something big is coming soon.  Thinking august we will get the PlayStation Experience.    In other news, Cyberpunk 2077 is back in the PSN store. The heads over at Projekt CD Red say they are satisfied with how the game plays on last Gen consoles, although I still hear a lot of complaints from players that say the game is in just as bad of shape as it was before. I mean, Sony gave it the greenlight so it must be improved somewhat, but I haven’t played it on last Gen consoles, so I cannot attest to either. Fingers crossed the majority are happy with it.    Ghost of Tsushima directors cut for PS4 and PS5 has a price tag on it that isn’t appeasing fans. If you already own the game on PS4, the upgrade will run you $19.99 USD and the PS5 version will cost 29.99 USD. PS5 owners seem to be the most upset because the upgrade is obviously $10 more. Fans are upset because an upgrade between last and next Gen consoles is usually free, but the extra $10 just for PS5 features does seem kinda shiesty on Sony’s part. I know it’s a business, but that doesn’t mean businesses don’t get petty at times.   Sony hosted another State of Play stream a few days ago. They announced some upcoming games, but it wasn’t even close to the show everyone is hoping will happen soon. I mentioned in the last article that Sony did trademark PlayStation Experience this year which is a sure sign that there is a yet to be announced show coming up. I’m guessing it’ll take place in late August and I would be surprised if the show didn’t take place at all.. State of Play was ok, but does little for those waiting to hear some hard hitting news.    If you’re looking for a bargain on … Read More

July 8th State of Play Highlights: Deathloop Deep Dive, Indies, and Third-Party Updates!

While E3 has come and gone, Sony is apparently stepping into the spotlight with a new State of Play. While it doesn’t seem like a bombastic E3 showcase, they did promise a look at Deathloop, along with updates on indie games and third-party titles, so that leaves a lot of room! The July 8th State of Play begins at 2PM Pacific, 5PM Eastern, and you can watch the whole stream right here! We’ll also provide our live highlights during the event, for anyone who simply wants to see the big announcements. We’ve got you covered, so bookmark this page and stay tuned! July 8th State of Play Full Stream & Highlights We’re opening with footage of the next game in the Moss series on PSVR! First game was excellent and a sequel was teased, so this is great news. New weapons and mechanics shown, but seems to have the same isometric view, which worked great in the first game for VR. Title is Moss Book II. A new multiplayer shooter has you fighting to save an arcade, completing echallenges to earn cred, and fighting hordes of enemies in what looks like a neon-soaked Fortnite type of game. Customizable characters, loot drops, and a variety of weapons in Arcadegeddon, which begins early access today on PS5. Next up is Tribes of Midgard, which comes out later this month and is here to show off seasonal updates after the game’s launch. The game also features eight classes to unlock with their own abilities and skill trees. Runes also drop per season, which add both active and passive abilities like lightning on your attacks. Season quests will also take you across Asgard to fight new bosses. Looks pretty good, and online co-op up to 10 players! The next game stars anamorphic animal characters in a gritty sc-fi world that seems to be a side-scrolling brawler. It’s called F.I.S.T and it comes out September 7th. Next is Hunter’s Arena, a game about fighting online players and demons as a hunter in a fantasy world. While the customization is a little silly (disco ball weapons, rubber ducks), the rest of the game looks pretty good. The game is a battle royale on massive maps with enemies and dungeons, with options to go alone or in a team of three. It launches next month on PS4 and PS5. and will be fre for PS+ members. We have new footage of Sifu in action, and the kung-fu brawler is looking as awesome as ever. Interestingly, the character seems to age every time you fail. It’s coming in early 2022 now. We are seeing more of Jet: The Far Shore, an interstellar sci-fi game about exploring and colonizing an unknown planet. The gameplay has a pulled back camera that really conveys perspective and space as you fly your ship. The game also features first-peron segments on the ground for additional story. Combat won’t be a focus, but you will have defense mechanics and scanners to learn more about … Read More

E3 is over, but the news never stops! Check out this weeks drop!

After a long week of E3, it’s time to get back to regular news updates here at PS5 Gamers. Of course there will be more shows coming up like EA’s Play Live, which will take place on July 22. So, without further ado, let’s get you updated on this week’s news drops!   Sony has been back at it again with PlayStation Direct, which entails an invite to buy a PS5 directly from Sony. While the service is great for those hoping to get on the list of invitees, it seems that Sony needs to tweak the system a little bit as the company had seemingly sent invites to Gamers that already own the PS5 console. I don’t know if Sony just doesn’t care or if they plan to fix the invite system, but it seems pretty disappointing to players waiting on getting a console. Of course Sony hasn’t answered any questions in regards to what happened and probably won’t. If by chance the company speaks up, I’ll let you know what they have to say for themselves.    On another note, Sony might be treating fans to an upcoming PlayStation Experience (PSX)! The company filed a trademark application for PSX on June 11th, 2021. While this doesn’t guarantee a showing, it seems like a waste of time to trademark the show if there isn’t going to be one and it’s not a situation where they have to renew the trademark in order to keep it. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear an announcement for August or September. Sony has a lot to talk about sooner than later i.e. their answer the Xbox Gamepass and upcoming plans for the holiday. In the meantime, I’ll just keep holding my breath until we hear some dirt.   Have you been getting excited for Battlefield 2024? Well, it would seem that many players are getting ready for the upcoming title by playing Battlefield 4. In fact, so many players have hopped back on BF4 from all platforms, EA is having the devs increase server capacity to accommodate the traffic. BF4 is 8 years old and I am telling you now, playing that game is not going to prepare you for Battlefield 2024. Play the game because you like it and are excited to see the servers light up once again, but don’t think this is going to “warm you up” for the next entry. Nothing will prepare us for it aside from a beta, I assure you.    Speaking of EA (again), there is a pretty heavy rumor that the company is going to be bringing back an “established” IP. A journalist from Venture Beat by the name of Jeff Grubb seems to believe this is happening. He stated in a tweet that we should expect the reveal next month “if we’re not dead first.” This has of course gotten speculators to believe he is referencing the Dead Space series. While we have to take the rumors with a grain of salt, … Read More

Ubisoft Forward 2021 Highlights and Announcements!

Each year Ubisoft hosts some sort of event around the summertime, and with E3 2021 in full swing, it’s time for Ubisoft Forward 2021. Join us here at 3PM Eastern, 12PM Pacific, for the full event, and stay tuned to this page for the major highlights as the event unfolds! Splinter Cell, new Assassin’s Creed content, Rainbow Six, Far Cry 6, or even Beyond Good & Evil 2? Time will tell, let’s dive in. Ubisoft Forward 2021: Full Event and Highlights We’re opening with Rainbow Six Extraction, which is a co-op version of the game that has more of a sci-fi twist to the story. The enemies seem to be infected with an alien parasite of a sort, with ranged attacks and special enemy types. It’s coming out September 16th. Next up is Rocksmith, which seems to be making a comeback. I always liked the concept of this, as it taught you real guitar skills. The new game uses a subscription to give you ongoing content, which I have mixed feelings about. There’s a beta upcoming for the new Rocksmith+ game. A new Rider’s Republic trailer shows us a deeper look into the massively multiplayer extreme sports game. We got a look at the hub of the game, and some gameplay for the snowboarding gameplay, BMX, and wingsuit modes. It’s releasing September 2nd. We got some updates on live games like Rainbow Six Siege, For Honor, Trackmania, Brawlhalla, The Crew 2, and upcoming Watch Dogs DLC. Just Dance 2022 is coming, surprising no one, but is nice to have. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gets some updates, including one-handed swords and a summer release for the Siege of Paris DLC. The Discovery Tour mode makes a return, which could be cool for those interested in viking history. The game is also slated to get DLC into the second year, with additional expansions. Far Cry 6 gameplay mostly focuses on a cutscene where the villain is in the spotlight. The tension is good and the villain seems strong. They went on to discuss post-launch content for the release. The Season pass is also confirmed to include Blood Dragon, and DLC where you play as past Far Cry villains, which is pretty awesome actually. Mario and the Rabbids are back, with a new title that seems to pull from Mario Galaxy. The new title is called Sparks of Hope. We also got a look at some early gameplay, with promises that it would introduce new elements to push the genre forward. We’re closing out with a look at the Avatar game Ubisoft is making, and the graphics are certainly impressive, but the film’s sequel needs to be quite good to really become relevant again after all these years and make a game like this make sense.
